If you want to take matters into your own hands you can go to the websites of most agencies where they will have a form you can fill out, just like mine below. Sometimes an agency has an open casting day but I wouldn’t wait on that. What if you were scouted on the street or via your socials? Unfortunately, there are fake scouts, so always head over to the site of the agency to get in touch with them. Also being scouted means they see something marketable in you, it doesn’t automatically mean you will be on the cover of a magazine. Stay grounded and realistic. Modeling is a top sport, and the high fashion industry standards can be quite hard for most of you. If you need to resort to unhealthy behavior to fit the standard you shouldn’t want to fit into that standard to begin with. Yes, there are some curvy, out-of-the-box models doing very well but in the grand scheme of things they are still the exception. Now I often get the question; Why do models need to be “that skinny”? Designers and brands decide in which size the runway garments and sample sizes are designed, made, and fabricated. As long as they don’t change the sizes, models need to fit those standards. Casting directors are the ones that cast the model for the job. They cater to the client not to the model. So I want you all to be very aware that becoming a model is not that simple.
